Refund policy
Every paid job carries a 14-day refund. If the production we returned was wrong, incomplete, unreadable or never arrived, you get your money back. We will offer to re-run the job first, because most failures are one bad source file rather than a bad production - but the re-run is an offer, not a condition, and a refund stands on its own.
The 14-day rule
You have 14 days from the day of payment to ask for a refund, and you do not have to justify the request beyond telling us what went wrong. A job qualifies when the fault is ours:
- The production was never delivered, or the download link did not work
- Pages came back blank, unreadable, rotated, cropped or out of order
- Bates numbers are missing, duplicated or out of sequence on the file we sent
- The wrong document set was processed because of an error on our side
- You were charged twice for the same job
What happens first: one free re-run
Most failed productions are a source-document problem - a batch of scans at the wrong DPI, one corrupt file in a folder of two hundred, a page range that excluded the exhibit. Re-running with that fixed takes minutes and gives you the production you actually needed, so we offer it before refunding. If you would rather not wait, say so in your first message and we will refund without the re-run.
What is not refundable
This is a short list on purpose. If your situation is not on it and the production was not what you paid for, ask - the default answer is yes.
- A production delivered correctly where the defect is in your source documents
- A change of mind after a correct delivery has been downloaded
- Fees charged by your own bank or card issuer
- A job on an account closed for abuse of the acceptable-use terms
How to request a refund
-
Send the order reference
Use the contact form and choose Billing, or reply to the receipt email. The order reference is on that receipt, and it is the only thing we need to find the payment.
-
Say what was wrong
One or two sentences is enough - wrong order, missing numbers, blank pages. You never need to send us the document itself.
-
We answer within one business day
You get a person's reply, not an automated acknowledgement, with either a re-run, a fix or a refund.
-
The money goes back the way it came
Refunds are issued through Paddle to the original payment method. Cards usually clear in 5-10 business days; how long your bank takes after that is outside our control.
Who takes the payment
Paddle is our merchant of record: it handles the card, the sales tax and the receipt, and Paddle's name appears on your statement rather than ours. Paddle also issues the refund, which is why the order reference matters and why we cannot refund a payment we cannot see.
Free jobs
Using the watermark tool costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund. That does not make a broken job unimportant: if the free tool fails on your file, tell us anyway, because it is usually the same defect that would ruin a paid production.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy replaces or limits the rights you have under the consumer law that applies where you live. Where those rights are stronger than this policy - a longer cancellation window, for example - they win, and we will not ask you to waive them.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to accept a re-run instead of a refund?
No. The re-run is offered because it usually gets you the production faster, but if you ask for a refund we process the refund. Asking for one does not delay the other.
What if the 14 days have passed?
Tell us anyway. The window is the point at which a refund is automatic, not the point at which we stop caring - if a defect in our output only surfaced later, we will still look at it.
Can you refund part of a job?
Yes, where only part of the production failed - one folder out of five, for example. A partial refund leaves the rest of the production with you and closes the job.
