Batch watermarking PDF files

Batch watermarking means applying the same mark to several PDFs so they look like one set. With a browser tool you do it by settling the settings once - style, wording, opacity, colour - then running the tool once per file with those same settings, which takes under a minute each and produces consistent output without installing anything or creating an account.

The recipe approach

Consistency is the whole point of a batch. If one quotation carries a diagonal mark at 30% and the next at 50%, the set looks improvised and a reader cannot tell which is which. So settle the recipe first, write it down, and change nothing while you work through the files.

  • Style: one style per document family - diagonal for status, footer for details
  • Wording: identical capitalisation and spelling on every file
  • Opacity: one number, chosen after a print check on the first file
  • Colour: one colour across the set
  • Pages: every page, unless the recipe says otherwise

Running the batch

  1. Write down the recipe

Style, wording, colour, opacity and pages, before you start.

  2. Mark the first file

Upload one PDF, apply the settings, and check the result carefully.

  3. Adjust the recipe once

If the opacity is too heavy or the wording is wrong, fix it now and re-check.

  4. Work through the rest

Upload each file in turn with the same settings. The job runs in seconds per file.

  5. Spot-check the set

Open two or three results side by side and confirm they match.

Keeping a batch organised

The free tier processes one file per job, which suits batches of a handful of documents. Each job takes seconds, so a set of ten is a couple of minutes of clicking rather than a chore.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload a whole folder at once?

Not on the free tier - it processes one file per job - so you run the tool once per file with the settings you settled on. Because the settings are the same every time, the results are identical; what you lose is the convenience of a single drag-and-drop.

How do I keep the watermark consistent across files?

Settle the style, wording, colour and opacity once, note them down, and do not change them while the batch is running. The most common inconsistency is opacity: people raise it when a page looks faint, then forget they did so for the next file.

Does each file count towards the daily limit?

Yes. The free tier allows six files a day, so a batch of ten spans two days unless you are on a paid plan. Starting with the files that matter most gets the important ones marked first.
